JewelryDescription:
I usually begin with simple sculptural forms, either lathe turned ebony or red polymer clay. Then I work toward bringing light and emphasis to surfaces through silver or brass inlay. The black ebony and red polymer clay create a striking color combination that highlights the visual contrast between the geometry of the lathe turned ebony and the freer forms of the hand molded polymer clay.
For added visual interest I use leaves cast in silver, pearls, and various fabricated elements such as spheres, cones and tubes. Finally, I like the dark simple elegance of black rubber tubing. It can be used over memory wire for bracelets or as a stringing material for necklaces.
