The process is mostly traditional. I shoot 120mm color negative film with a 50-year-old Hasselblad camera, combining very long exposures (sometimes over an hour), with battery powered lighting equipment and colored gels.
The film is processed normally, and then wet-scanned, giving me a huge digital file that retains the incredible quality and look of the original film. I then finish the image in PhotoShop, where the vast majority of the work involves applying brightness and contrast.
The final pieces are Ultrachrome inkjet prints
