This work is my attempt for the sublime.
It brings a restrained calmness into the home through subtle shapes and tonal glazes. A quietness to contrast our fast paced, technology filled, over stimulated lives and culture.
When the bottles, bowls and trays are used in the homes of others, I hope it connects the users to a simpler way of living, and enriches their own daily lives. The wares maintain a utilitarian simplicity, to serve as an everyday vessel for the vibrance of life that surrounds us, and as a subconscious remembrance of what has come before us.
The work is wheel thrown pottery made of colored stoneware and white porcelain clays paired with food safe glazes.
