Description:
Inspired by nature and light, my paintings convey a sense of calm, peace and balance in a blend of realism and abstraction. My latest work employs leaves and petals as a "medium within a medium" to evoke images of skies, clouds and weather. I use only soft pastel on archival cardstock with a sanded texture for maximum vibrancy and longevity. Iridescent effects emerge as I build layer upon layer of pastel, alternating cool and warm tones. My works are all original, one-of-a-kind pastel paintings—never reproductions of any kind.
