Description:
I begin painting quickly to create a background and some general composition but soon after I am zoomed in on the canvas with great focus. I use small brushstrokes and meticulous blending to create depth and form in order to achieve believability in the surreal subject matter. I call my work "scientific surrealism" as it is based on hidden elements of nature such as anatomy or biology, often on the microscopic level.
