Description:
I create these functional pieces by shaping the hardwood (maple) with various woodworking tools. Then I apply twenty layers of brightly colored paint and top with gold, copper or silver leaf. The surface is then carved, by hand with a variety of different carving knives, useing several methods to produce the ringed designs and finished with four coats of extremely durable urethane.
