My work is inspired by nature, Italian frescoes, old Portuguese tiles, Delft pottery, and my community garden. I photograph flowers and plants that I grow in my garden, trees, and metal washers I find on my travels. i manipulate these images and hand monoprint them to plaster on wood. Because of the nature of the process every piece is different. Often I print many digital images on the same work, as with the imagined forests, each tree is from a separate modified photograph. My intent is to evoke shadows, ghosts or fossils of moments in nature.
