PaintingDescription:
My paintings are about a visual narrative between the boundaries of speech and silence, form and formlessness, inner and outer worlds. I am interested in the strength of intuition of the unknown, the place of silence where color and form express the world of lost words. I start each painting with a color field on wood birch panels or canvas. Then I sketch with pencil, charcoal, pen and apply thin glazed layers of acrylic paint with various sizes of brushes. The composition builds from bottom to top, and begins to come into focus each step of the way. It's always a surprise what I find, and in the final moments of the painting it reveals itself to me, magically. I paint to experience and express a visual conversation of a world I see and know.
