My work is created in the field using large format cameras which results in a negative between 4x5" up to 7x17". Besides the creative controls and large amount of information that this working method yields I find the best result is a slow and contemplative approach to my subject matter. If learning a thing takes me 10 years to make one negative and I am not unhappy as it is the experience in light I seek, not a recording of a place. In the last 5 years I have concentrated on book length bodies of work vs. single heroic and iconic images.
